I have been having a problem with my car for quite some time. I have a 2001 Honda Accord with the V6 271,234 miles. So it runs and drives great. Lots of power no check engine light. Transmission was rebuilt about 8 months ago at a local trans shop, they specialize in Honda transmissions. So if I drive it and it gets up to temperature, go into a store for about 15 -20 minutes, then I fire it up. It acts like it wants to die on me. It sputters and acts like it's running out of fuel. I have to give it gas for it to stay on, once i get moving down the road it's great again. This only happens after I stop for about 15 minutes and then go to start the car. It's really frustrating and I want to fix it. My local mechanic cannot figure it out, and there is a random cylinder misfire code in the computer. Other than that the car is great. Does anyone had any ideas? Willing to listen to all ideas, does not matter at this point. Throwing out a lifeline here!

Those are the exact symptoms of all the EGR problems I've had over the years. My current car I've had the longest, but the EGR gets clogged more and more frequently, and eventually needs replacing. Worse mileage too if you don't do either. It would trigger the same code and also EGR, so often that I stopped checking the engine light and the light actually burnt out. That solved ever having to see it on again! But seriously, hope that helps. I've had it take 2 days to start again, especially if I sat idling or the weather humidity is different.
